These specifications are recommended for playing 3D games without any lag. The recommended requirements are a bit demanding: an Intel Core i5-8600K processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card. This emulator is written in C++ so it's easy to use on various operating systems. The Egg NS sure is a shit, they even force you to spend $100 on a controller but if it works then it's proof that it is possible, let's see maybe the guys from yuzu have plans for that in the future, they did bring Citra to the mobile phone so who knows.Yuzu is a Nintendo Switch emulator for Windows, developed by the creators of Citra (the most popular Nintendo 3DS emulator). Those 3 things could put a phone behind a switch, or they could put a phone on par with the switch or the phone could still come on top, it all depends on the phone.

The main issue would be that: 1) android runs a lot more stuff in the background (apps, and other processes) than the switch's OS which doesn't require a lot of resources, 2) an emulator by itself is already consuming resources just to function, 3) that emulator might not be well optimized as well. But still, smartphone hardware nowadays is much more powerful than the switch hardware, as I explained on another comment. To be honest I don't understand much about emulation, I would like to learn one day but for now I'm focusing on what is important on my future career. On a side note it's kinda funny how the guys from Egg NS Emulator force you to spend $100 on a controller for your phone, at that point it's almost better to actually buy the switch lite, but I kind of understand that using a controller would be much more useful than using touchscreen controls but still.

The app would obviously need some good optimization, going as far as maybe even compressing the graphics or some technique to lower the graphics (which is common in cloud gaming), but then again the guys from Egg NS Emulator did it, theirs is illegal and might be spying on whoever was dumb enough to install it but they still made it work so it is possible, we just have to wait for the guys from yuzu to do it. But we also can't forget that while consoles just run the game, smartphones are running the game, receiving all the notifications from other apps, running all sorts of processes in the background so yeah there's that but I don't think it could be a huge deal, there are so many emulators out there with games that certain devices can't run so in my opinion it is very possible to do it, especially since yuzu emulator was written in C# which is very well supported by both android and iOS. But since phones are so much better now, there's a chance they could run some of those games without even sweating. Even if you consider that your phone doesn't heat much (like mine) you still need to realize that most people put cases on their phones to protect them which usually causes the phone to heat faster. It also explains very well why things are a little tougher on phones, they heat faster and touchscreen controls are not very intuitive which is why games are way simpler on phones. In fact if you go to this post you will see a comment by u/rundiablo which pretty much sums up very well the difference between a switch and a smartphone, there is also this post on quora which also give you a good idea how much more powerful smartphones are. I checked the specs and my smartphone is far much superior, and this is a phone that's nearly 3 years old, as far as specs go, switch wasn't launched with the most powerful components out there because it's not meant to be an heavy-duty console. Downvotes are only supposed to be used for comments that do not contribute to the ongoing discussion / thread.ĭo not post about playing games on yuzu which haven't been released yet.Īctually, I have one of the top phone models of 2019 (so it already has a few years on top of it but it's still a really good phone): the OnePlus 7T Pro. This subreddit is only for yuzu and it's development.ĭon't be a jerk. Please view the quickstart guide down below for approximate system requirements.

"Can my PC with x specs run yuzu?" threads should be kept at minimum. A guide on dumping keys and system archives can be found in the quickstart guide down below. Discussions about warez, downloading games and shader caches may result in a ban. Yuzu requires you to own a Switch and the games.

The emulator is currently booting quite a few commercial titles, including some 3D rendered ones. It is written in C++ with portability in mind, with builds actively maintained for Windows, Linux and macOS.
